Thoracic spine mobility is a vital for an efficient golf swing.🏌️♀️
👩🏽⚕️The MAIN function of the thoracic spine is rotation. During the golf swing, the goal is to maintain or exceed 45 degrees of rotation in both the backswing and follow through.

🏌🏻♂️Most golfers that struggle with t-spine mobility often won't be able to achieve and full shoulder turn nor proper tilts or extension.
🏌🏻♂️To test our t-spine mobility we should test our backswing tilt, our extension and finally our rotation. If we can perform this task efficiently we will have a nice centred pivot with our head not having moved off the ball. This will make it much easier in transition to get into our lead side and struck solid golf shots!⛳
💪The cat-camel exercise and rotation exercise are 2 drills to help improve your thoracic mobility and rotation.
🐈🐪Cat-camel: start in a quadruped (all 4s) position, and vertebrae by vertebrae flex the spine staring at the pelvis and working your way to the neck, then reverse.
🔄Rotation: start in quadruped and sit on your heels, place one forearm on the ground and one hand on the back of your head. With the arm that is free open up toward the ceiling, focusing on rotating at the t-spine.
